Thanks William!

WIR 6/11-6/17

Wednesday 6/11: BBN was pretty quiet, RB Grosbeaks near a nest were about it.

Thursday 6/12: Virginia Rail at Arlington Great Meaodws along with FOY Slender Spreadwing, Prince Baskettail, and Eastern Pondhawk.

Friday 6/13: College Pond had 2 otters, a RB Nuthatch, Veery, and not too much else.

Saturday 6/14: Heard Farm had mostly the usual. Sedge Meadow had an Orchard Oriole and lots of wet brush.

Sunday 6/15: Went down to Plymouth for the cicada/kite show. One kite over the car before I had parked, 1-2 more flying around. Cicadas were fairly numerous but not in huge numbers, although I counted 20 in one photo I took of the treetops, so there were probably far more than I realized. Myles Standish next, drop cool for odes but a few bluets that I haven’t seen in a while and a few other things. Pulled in at Nelson but it looked crowded, so just went home.

WIR 7/10-7/16

Wednesday 7/10: Nothing much at Weston Station Pond, did the loop around the quarry pond for the first time.

Thursday 7/11: Eagles, Osprey, not much else at Mystic Lakes.

Friday 7/12: Woodcock, Least Sandpipers, etc at BBN.

Saturday 7/13: Original plan was to go check on the Acadians and maybe Belle Isle. That changed with the Brown Booby report. Didn’t rush quite like the Anhinga, but I was up and out on the early side. Couple showers on the way, but it was when I got there and the bird was sitting in the open. Good looks, good crowd. Thanks Laura!

400!!

Anhinga Looking Upward.

Thanks Brian, Kim, Jeff, etc! And everyone else along the way too.

WIR 5/15-5/21

Wednesday 5/15: Started for Weston Station Pond but traffic looked awful so went to Shade St and Hobbs Brook. Nothing terribly exciting at either.

Thursday 5/16: RT Loon was still on the res. Got nicer at Great Meadows, 2 Common Loons flying over and a singing Willow Flycatcher (commute #150 for the year) about it.

Friday 5/17: No early word on the Chuck-will’s-widow, so Habitat it was. Few warblers, a singing thrush that needed a longer listen, not too much else.
